Fire Prevention
The Department is also responsible for Fire Prevention activities, and throughout each school year, firemen offer educational programs to the children of the Bridgeport Independent School District. Additionally, the Fire Marshal performs fire inspection, Fire Code enforcement, and plan review for the fire prevention process.
Emergency Management
Currently, the Department’s goals are to develop, draft, and implement emergency response, disaster preparation, and other large scale emergency plans for the City of Bridgeport. Additionally, the City has recently implemented an emergency notification system, called CodeRED, which help us contact our citizens in case of an emergency, such as a water leak or inclement weather. Click on the CodeRED link below to enter your telephone contact information to our database.
