When are City Council meetings held?

The Bridgeport City Council convenes for regular meetings and work sessions on the second and fourth Monday of every month in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 900 Thompson Street, at 6:00 p.m.

How can I see the agenda for an upcoming City Council or board meeting?

All-City Council and board/commission agendas and minutes are posted on the city's website at least 72 hours before the meeting. You can also browse past agendas and minutes.

How can I be appointed to a city advisory board or commission?

The Bridgeport City Council encourages all citizens to consider becoming actively involved in city government by serving on a city board, commission, or committee. Applications are accepted at any time; however, applications must be submitted by the last Friday in April for current year consideration. Appointments are made by the City Council in June each year and when necessary to fill a vacancy. Complete the application and return it to the City Secretary's Office will notify you if you are appointed to a board.
